Wildland fire near INL — information being gathered at Emergency Operations Center

A wildland fire is occurring near the boundaries of the U.S. Department of Energy's Idaho National Laboratory. The fire is near the East Butte and has drifted on and off the southeastern border of the INL site.

INL Communications is now gathering information about the wildland fire. As soon as details can be obtained and confirmed, information will be provided to the media.

INL emergency organizations are responding to the incident. State, county and tribal officials will be notified.

INL's emergency Joint Information Center at the Engineering Research Office Building, 2525 Fremont Ave., Idaho Falls, is being activated to answer questions. Media should call (208) 526-9206, not your regular INL contacts. Employees and the public can call (208) 526-5042.
