Wildland fire occurring at Idaho National Laboratory – information being gathered at Emergency Operations Center

A wildland fire is occurring on rangeland at the U.S. Department of Energy's Idaho National Laboratory this evening. The fire is near the East Butte off Highway 20 on the southern side of the INL Site.

INL and Bureau of Land Management firefighters are on the scene responding to the wildland fire.

INL Communications is now gathering information about the incident. As soon as details can be obtained and confirmed, information will be provided to the media.

State, county and tribal officials have been notified.

INL's emergency Joint Information Center at the Engineering Research Office Building, 2525 Fremont Ave., Idaho Falls, is being activated to answer questions. Media should call (208) 526-9206, not your regular INL contacts. Employees and the public can call (208) 526-5042.
