Battelle Energy Alliance Fiscal Year 2012 request for charitable donations must be received by Sept. 15

IDAHO FALLS — Battelle Energy Alliance (BEA), operator of Idaho National Laboratory, is asking all requests for charitable donations be submitted by Sept. 15.

BEA is committed to being an active community partner. Through the INL Community Giving program, BEA provides corporate-funded donations in selected areas including human services, health, environment, arts and civic projects.

"All requests for INL donations need to be submitted on the 2012 Request for Donation form by Thursday, Sept. 15. Requests submitted after Sept. 15 will not be included in the review process," said Lori Priest, INL contributions administrator.

"We recognize the needs in our community are growing, so our selection process is very difficult," said Amy Lientz, director of INL Communications and Governmental Affairs. "Our first priority this year will be to give to organizations that support the basic needs and education of children and the underprivileged."

Forms for submitting 2012 community giving requests are available at http://www.inl.gov. From there, select the Community Outreach link on the left and scroll to view the Community Giving section where the 2012 form and guidelines are posted. Completed forms can be submitted by fax (208-526-9917) or by e-mail (lori.priest@inl.gov).

Decisions about 2012 contributions to community organizations will be made on or before Dec. 15. Notifications will be sent to requesting organizations informing them of funding awards. Funds will be for projects or programs for the period of Oct. 1, 2011 to Sept. 30, 2012.

Eligibility criteria: Organizations must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit entities. A copy of the IRS tax-exempt letter must accompany the form. For agencies that provide services to children in need, preferential support is given to regional organizations. INL Community Giving does not fund political or religious organizations, emergency response funding, courtesy advertisements, athletic programs or events, individuals, contests or extracurricular school activities. This funding does not include requests for K-12 education donations.

For further information on educational funding requests, contact Brenda Greenhalgh at brenda.grenhalgh@inl.gov.
