INL leaders assist Utah Food Bank

SALT LAKE CITY -- Idaho National Laboratory’s Leadership-Management Team and spouses spent three hours processing 17,500 pounds of food last week for a “Making a Difference” project at the Utah Food Bank facility in Salt Lake City. The community support project was part of the annual LMT management workshop held this year in Utah’s capital city.

Kelly Ochsenhirt, Utah Food Bank project manager, described the LMT effort as “awesome.” He said the 42 members of INL's team processed enough food in the afternoon session to provide 10,000 meals for food bank recipients. “That will provide meals for 10 people for a year,” he explained, noting that the demands on the food bank are particularly heavy in these challenging economic times.

The INL Leadership Management Team conducts a multiday planning workshop annually and includes a community support project. Past workshops have been held in Boise and Coeur d’Alene.
