Environmental Engineering

Through management of national technology development programs, the department has core competencies including applied engineering of chemical processes, advanced aqueous separations technologies; process off-gas monitoring and control; and managing, processing, and disposing of the nation's most challenging waste streams and radiological materials.

As a result of these programs, unique expertise and test bed capabilities with various thermal processing technologies have been established. This expertise continues to be applied at INL, DOE and commercial facilities to accomplish environmental cleanup missions and develop and operate pilot plants and remote radioactive operations.
