One of the missions of the Center for Advanced Energy Studies is to act as a catalyst for technology-based economic development in the state of Idaho and the region.
The center is doing this through a variety of ways, including moving technology and research into the marketplace.
Though each CAES institution operates its own technology transfer office, they are working together to commercialize and license technologies developed through the partnership.
In FY 2008, CAES produced its first Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with Precision Nanoparticles, a private company.
